Vision Pentecostal Story

Hazeldine and Denzel Springer were born in St.Andrew, Barbados. They both attended St. Simon Pentecostal Church, and it was there that they met one another. They got married in 1950, and gave birth to four children: Virgil, Linswell (Brothers), Glendisha, and Melchior(Harry). Together they founded the Lakes Pentecostal Church in 1965, which is now the Vision Pentecostal Church in Lakes, St. Andrew, being pastored by Gloria Small. Hazel and Denzel relocated to the U.S. in the 1970’s and opened Vision Pentecostal Church located at 1074 St. John’s Place in Brooklyn, New York. By the grace of God, the church and ministry grew, and Pastor Springer soon needed a new and larger building. In 2003, Vision moved to 1050 Utica Avenue where Pastor Springer remained acting Pastor until 2008 before ultimately passing in 2011. Evangelist Hazel continued to serve her congregation and minister to countless others through her missionary work until her passing in 2022.

Our Mission

Mission Statement

The goal of Vision Pentecostal Church is to be a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle, or any such thing; but holy and without blemish; a church where all the power and gifts of the Holy Ghost are in full operation and manifestation in the congregation and the lives of the members.

We seek for specific fulfillment and manifestation of the word including the following:

  1. Matthew 18: 18-19
    Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
    Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my father which is in heaven.

  2. Mark 11: 22-24
    And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
    For verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
    Therefore, I say unto you, what things soever ye desire when ye pray, believe that ye receive them and ye shall have them.

  3. Mark 16: 17-18
    And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
    They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

  4. John 20: 22-23
    And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, receive ye the Holy Ghost:
    Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.

  5. Acts 1: 8
    But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you; and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaca, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

  6. 1 Corinthians 12: 4-10
    Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
    And there are diversities of operations, but is the same God which worketh all in all. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
    To another faith by the same Spirit, to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
    To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits, to another divers’ kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues;
    But all these worketh that one and self same Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

  7. Ephesians 4: 8 & 11-13
    Wherefore he saith, WHEN HE ASCENDED UP ON HIGH, HE LED CAPTIVITY CAPTIVE, AND GAVE GIFTS UNTO MEN.
    And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and sore, pastors and teachers;
    For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
    Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of fullness of Christ.
